This is the time to speak up! We have a bill heading to the Washington State Congress. It doesn’t get everything we want but it is a start.
We need you to comment on line, to the congress to let them know that we the HOMOEOWNERS in HOAs want them to pass this bill. It protects homeowners from having their homes foreclosed on for minor sums of many, and blocks non-judicial foreclosures where the homeowner does not know he is being foreclosed on. Please help us get this bill through.
We want to add to this bill. We want there to be penalties in the law for Board Members and Mortgage Holders that violate the HOA laws. Who could really object to putting penalties in the law for people who violate the law? This is a non-partisan issue.
It is easy to support this bill. Take the following steps:
Go to https://leg.wa.gov/
Click on “Bill Information” on the left side of the screen.
Under Search Bill Number type in the bill number 1482
If you want to read the bill, move down the page to the heading “Available Documents” and click on “Original Bill”
Go to the top right of the page, click on “Comment on this Bill”
Fill in your address, then click “Verify District”
Click the names of all the legislators that pop up.
Fill in the rest of the document
Under “Position” click “Support”
Write in a comment stating that “We need penalties in the law for Board Members, Property Managers and Mortgage Holders who violate the laws. It is pointless to write laws to benefit the Homeowners if the government does not enforce them.”
Click “Send Comment”

that that you should publish more about this issue, it might not be a taboo subject but typically folks don’t discuss these issues.
